The 40 Elephants, Hotel, 3-5, Great Scotland Yard, London SW1A 2HN, UK
The 40 Elephants was an all-female organized crime collective active in London's Elephant and Castle District from at least 1873 right into the 1950. They specialized in shoplifting, with some blackmail and extortion thrown in to make them particularly badass. This gang was notable for its longevity and skill in avoiding police detection. Their most notorious leader, Diamond Annie, was known by the London police as "the cleverest of thieves". Forty Elephants funded a life of decadence in London roaring twenties, hanging about the glamorous hotels, bars and theaters they could only dream about before their turn to crime.
40 Elephants serve a range of light snacks and larger bites such as pakoras, tostadas and burgers- the perfect accompaniments to our delicious range of cocktails. Which will you go for?

Everything top notch,the friendliest bartender (ishan) told us about the history of the beautiful 40 elephants female gang. The beautiful atrium in the middle of the bar depicting smash and grab which was particularly interesting. Can't wait to come back
Bar Bados
Elegant bar inspired by a powerful female group. The bar payed respect to the history by allocating the first two pages of the menu to the interesting story. The interior design also followed the theme, which I appreciated. I liked the design and furniture. The service was ok. We thought we’d get some nibbles (nuts/ olives/ or something) along with the drinks but that wasn’t the case. The drinks were quite good.

Very elegant place. A little expensive but worth it. I did not eat just wine. Even thr toilets are so fancy.
