Outstanding Mediterranean restaurant at the airport. It's not only the best airport food we've had anywhere in the world, but it's really exceptional Lebanese cuisine. We loved the aubergine (eggplant), hummus, haloumi salad, and watermelon and feta salad. The breads are delicious. The falafel was very good. Don't be fooled by the decor that looks very "airport hotel neutral" the food is really the star of this restaurant.
The overall experience was decent. While the portions were rather on the smaller side, the restaurant is accommodating for people with allergies, offering assistance with the menu and providing gluten-free bread. However, I found the food to be quite salty. The shrimp dish was disappointingly small for the price (36,-), with only 8 small shrimps with some butter sauce. On a positive note, the roasted aubergine was particularly enjoyable and stood out as the best dish in my opinion.
After traveling Switzerland for a week, we stayed at the Zurich Airport Hyatt due to an early morning flight the next day. We stumbled across the Babel Restaurant that evening and were surprised to find the best meal of our entire vacation. The mixed grill and pilaf were superb! The lamb chop was the best we’ve ever had. Amazing dinner.
