Sururu Nyma Choma Mishkaki

Choma, roast foods are not a new things among locals, in fact it had a rich and storied history in the Zanzibari cuisine.

  • Step 1

    Mix all the ingredients well, and then marinate the beef in the marinade preferably overnight for the meat to tenderize.

  • Step 2

    Skewer the meat, and cook over a hot charcoal grill or under an oven broiler until tender. You can brush a bit of oil during the cooking process so that the meat doesn’t dry out.

  • Step 3

    Keep turning the skewers as you grill to ensure the meat is cooked evenly. Be careful not to overcook as this will dry and toughen the meat.

  • Step 4
