The Library and Veranda, Shangani St, Zanzibar 4255, Tanzania
Stone Town,
This is one of the best hotels I’ve stayed at in Tanzania. The property is right on the beach. The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. Upon check in, I was guided around the hotel by a staff member. She showed me where everything was located and then offered to help me book excursions during my stay in Zanzibar. The hotel might be pricy, but it is well worth the money. The sunset views are amazing.
This is the place to be in Stone Town! Need a little R&R after safari? Look no further. Maybe it was the contrast from our previous lodging, a tented camp in the serengeti? No, in any city in the world this hotel would be a standout due to its historical features, flawless modernization, beautiful and exotic surroundings, and exceptional staff. Take it a step further. Add Le Labo amenities, world class cuisine, top quality furnishings and linens- it adds up to a superb stay that begs to be repeated as much as possible. Teeny details like the fresh coconut with drops of essential spices, the home made crisps with tasty tropical drinks, the endless entertainment of the Stone Town waterfront, the welcoming view from the front door straight through to the Indian Sea....it all adds up to a memorable experience.
The sophisticated yet relaxed ambience, combining eclectic art and a wide selection of books on Zanzibar's history and heritage, features a residential style and an inviting lounge area, with plush sofas, intimate corners and elegant lighting. The Library extends out to the Veranda, an elegant yet informal space, ideal for relaxing and absorbing the stunning views of the Dhow harbour and Indian Ocean beyond.
