Wash and soak black lentil at least for 3 hours. It will absorb water and becomes soft.
Boil the lentil in a covered pot with salt and red chili powder for 3 hours in slow fire make sure lentil becomes extremely soft.
Heat oil in a pan add ginger garlic paste sauté till golden color. Add tomato puree and rest of spices. Pour in above-cooked lentil and cook it for 1 hour at moderate heat. The lentil will become extremely soft to give way the ladle pressure.
Finish with fresh cream and additional butter (optional). Serve hot with Indian bread or rice
