The Original Rake

Tom rakewell

What is a Rake? By Oxford English definition, a fashionable or wealthy man of immoral or promiscuous habits. A mid-17th century abbreviation of the archaic 'rakehell.' The legend of Tom Rakewell, the first Rake, is a tale of glory and woe. It's a story of indulgent pleasures and outrageous scandals. Tom's influence is everywhere at Rake's. Sophisticated, luxurious, mysterious, excessive; these are the concepts that make a true Rake. Within our walls, follow Tom's journey to the heights of class, and his plummet into the depths of sinfulness. Meet the contemporary Rake. Wealthy? Possibly. A man? No, not necessarily. Fashionable? Most definitely. But on the Rake's OWN TERMS.
