This hotel next to the University of Manchester is really good. Had a great conference there and the lunch was amazingly delicious fusion food. The ambience is good. But didn't stay for the night.
Absolutely diabolical attitude of the staff. I have never been spoken to with such disregard. We requested a cot for our baby to sleep in at approximately 1600 and it still hadn't arrived at 2120 after asking four times and needing to be up at 545 the following morning for our flight. Our baby was extremely tired and screaming. The same worker we'd asked had the same flippant, snappy attitude the first time we asked him and clearly had no concern for our child's sleep safety. One of the biggest causes of SIDs is bed sharing, something he was basically forcing us to do if we and our child wanted to get any sleep before our early start and long flight the following day. A hotel denying one of their guests the right to a safe nights sleep. He told us he was doing us a favour by offering us a cot in the first place as it was considered 'extras' and that there was only one person who could actually bring us the cot and she was busy cleaning so we'd just have to wait. When I asked why he or his colleagues couldn't get it and bring it to us considering the late hour he said they can't because of hotel policy and that he should have left the hotel two hours ago, as though that was an appropriate thing to say to someone staying at the hotel - like I should be grateful he was even still there for me to ask?! I left the desk in tears with my baby in his sleeping bag resting his head on my shoulder waiting to go to sleep. It was quite clear he thought himself above the task and was too proud to apologise and deliver the cot. He clearly has no children, and should absolutely not be working in hospitality.
