We were looking for some good Indonesian food in the Amsterdam area, and found that Mama Makan was connected to our hotel & offered a great option. We enjoyed dinner at Mama Makan on 'Kartini Day,' commemorating and honoring Indonesian hero Raden Ajeng Kartini and her work for women's empowerment and to celebrate the empowerment Indonesian woman. The restaurant had a set three-course menu - including a FULL VEGAN three-course menu - and offered entertainment (in honor of Kartini Day) with dancers wearing traditional Indonesian outfits and performing dances to Indonesian music. We enjoyed the food and much of the variety offered - although the quantity was immense and we didn't get to a large portion of it! Delicious drink options as well. Good atmosphere, music, and service overall!
Food, service and atmosphere deserve 5 stars. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I had experienced Indonesian food in different occasions and had a certain level of expectation. Mama Makan was completely different and exceeded my expectations. Do not skip the desserts at the end of the show.
